Sneak Peak Into I'M YOURS

EXCERPT from I'm Yours:

The next day I stay in bed, drowning myself in tears. Cole’s been knocking at my door again today, but I can’t move. The pain hurts too much. I want to give up on everything and lie in this bed for the rest of my life.

It’s mid-day and the curtains are shut tight. It’s like a dungeon in here—just the way I want and need it right now.

I don’t want to move.

I want to continue staring off into space and imagine how beautiful my life used to be.

I remember when Cole restored my holiday spirit. He made me fall in love with Christmas, even though I hated every single thing about it. Where is that man? Where is the man I fell so deeply in love with? He’s not here. He’s lost.

There were no signs. Maybe I read everything wrong. Or maybe… Just maybe… Deep down inside I knew. Did he do it because I deserved the pain? Was I just no good enough to pursue anymore, even though he married me? I did everything right. I was nice, genuine, treated him like a man should be treated.

So why did he do this? Why didn’t he choose to make love to me instead of her?

I’m numb… Broken… Hurt… Devastated… My heart is broken into pieces. I’ve been crying… hard… I feel like my heart is being ripped from my chest. That’s how he is making me feel. He did this to me. He caused this pain.

A Letter to My 16 Year Old Self

Dear 16 Year Old Olivia,

You're beautiful. Don't let anyone tell you different. You're intelligent if you just put your mind to it. You can pass that math test tomorrow. The one you've been dreading and think you can't pass.

Don't go to that party. It's nice to be surrounded by friends, but you don't need to get drunk to do it. It's fun... I know... But, your mom and dad worry about you. They do. Mom knows what you're up to. That's why she keeps texting to check on you.

Don't cry over him. He doesn't deserve your tears. You're gonna find true happiness someday. Believe that. I know your heart is breaking... I know it hurts and feels like it will never end... I know the pain... The agony... The never-ending anxiety. But, you're brave. Braver than you know. Your strength is beautiful. I've seen it. Now you just need to see it.

Tell your parents you love them more. Stop arguing with them. They're only trying to protect you. I promise you they're not against you. They just don't want you to make the same mistakes they did.

Be happy. Stop worrying so much about what people think of you. You're something special... Unique, like your grandfather used to say. Your smile makes others smile. Your laugh makes others laugh. Your caring soul makes others want to care more.

Smile. Right now. You know you want to. Just be happy. Keep caring so much, even when it hurts. And never forget how beautiful you are

Love,
21 Year Old Olivia

It is clear that his coaching performance directly affects his welcome in the community, along with the acceptance of his wife, Tami (Connie Britton), and his daughter, Julie (Aimee Teegarden). The town's most beloved player is all-star quarterback Jason Street (Scott Porter), who suffers aspinal injury in the pilot episode that leaves him in a wheelchair. To the Man I Loved That Didn't Love Me Back

We've all been through it. You fall so head over heels in love with a man that doesn't share the same feelings.

Every sign was there. Maybe I read everything wrong. Or maybe... Just maybe... You felt the same way I did... But, why wasn't I good enough to pursue? I did everything right. I was nice, genuine, treated you like a man should be treated.

So why didn't you pick me? Why didn't you choose to love me? Was it because I came off too strong? I do that sometimes, because I care and I want you to know and see how much I care.

When I realized you would never love me the way I loved you, I put a guard up. The walls are so high and so thick that no one can get through.

I was numb for a while... Broken... Hurt... Devastated... My heart broke for days. I cried... Hard... Every day for a while. I felt like my heart was ripped from my chest. That's how you made me feel. You did that to me. You caused that pain.

But, my wounds healed and I'm still here, standing tall with my head held high. I'll get through this just like I have every other heartbreak. You were a chapter in my book, and I'm moving on to the next.

Thank you. Thank you for opening my eyes to realize how truly strong I am. I'm a strong person. I've always been strong, but your heartache brought realization to my eyes, and now I truly know my strength as a woman.

Tomorrow is a new day. And I'm happy to be alive. I'm happy... Truly happy. Every day is a gift... And your pain was only temporary.
